UK company plans stem cell expansion, new facilities

Jack Kaye, chief executive and founder of Thorn Medical, the UK company that has purchased Freeport's Okyanos stem cell research facility, acknowledged that being able to do research on human cells is pretty much "the holy grail" for stem cell researchers, and said the company is "very interested" in securing a "foothold" in The Bahamas as a prime jurisdiction allowing that research.
